Actually, even if you, as a 55 Monk (lets say), take a full party into FoW or wherever, and let the party get killed to go smite...you still only get your 1/8th share of the drops, the other drops will drop for the other people.

They shouldnt drop for others if they are not in range. But if they still do then if the team is dead then the drops lose there assignments after I think 10 minutes so just wait it out.
